Eric Yi was born in Queens, NY and has family lineage from Seoul, Korea. He was raised in the Baltimore area and now lives and works in Howard County, Maryland. He is fluent in English and can speak Korean as a second language.

Eric works to achieve flow state while creating traditional and digital art. He continuously practices growth by stacking days and challenging himself by exploring new mediums and learning advanced techniques to develop muscle memory. He enjoys collaborating with fellow artists, designers and musicians on a wide range of creative projects with mediums including graphic design, illustration, logos, hand lettering, photography and videography. Eric's latest exploration of mediums are 3D sculpting, motion design and animation.

In his free time, Eric enjoys a strong pour over black coffee in the morning while catching up on leisure reading. He appreciates going to museums, playing board games and Family Movie Nights. He dearly values traveling as most of his journeys have offered a fresh perspective on life. They've opened his heart and mind to enrichment, novel experiences and lasting friendships. The list goes on, but they all invoke feelings of content and solidarity with humanity. A sense of awe and gratitude certainly invigorates the soul.

Music is a love for Eric and another creative outlet. He enjoys exploring soundscapes and discovering beats with traditional instruments and MIDI. He plays vinyl records for that lossless analog warmth and makes it a point to frequent concerts to show support for his favorite artists. He genuinely loves all music in every genre and discovering a new artist sparks true joy. 🗲 🗲 🗲

Ligaments and soft tissue willing, Eric still enjoys pursuing athletics like skating and snowboarding that provide another creative outlet for flow state and self expression. He also favors more traditional sports like soccer, football, basketball and golf. Eric is a fan of the Premiere League and his teams are Newcastle United and Liverpool. YNWA. His favorite collegiate teams are the MD Terps, UMBC Retrievers and DUB V Mountaineers. Eric has a homer heart and loves rooting for the Ravens and O's, hon!

One of Eric's main love languages comes from his nostalgia of food so he loves the experience of breaking bread and sharing delicious flavors, drinks, jokes and stories with family, friends and new acquaintances.

Eric enjoys cooking, grilling and trying new recipes. He sees food as the perfect vessel for experiencing different cultures from around the world. He believes the primitive common thread human beings share is their innate willingness for kindness and reciprocity through the generosity of food.

Eric cherishes spending time with his loved ones in the outdoors, especially hiking through forests with his family including his furry wild child named Bella, a 100 Lb Labrador Retriever "Runt" worth her weight in love.

He feels a natural connection with the flora and fauna of the ecologies he visits. He appreciates the therapeutic benefits from the symbiotic breathing with trees of fresh mountain air to the salty cathartic sea breeze. One that is as present and constant as the next crashing wave, as reliable as the moon that waxes and wanes and as constant as the tide that ebbs and flows to its gravitational pull.
